Economist Danielle DiMartino Booth recently sat down for a discussion with William R. White, Canadian economist. Their conversation surrounds the impact of central banking on the economy in market upturns and downturns. The massive amount of debt facing America is alarming.
White began his professional career with the Bank of England in the late 1960’s. He spent 22 years with the Bank of Canada in which part of that time he served as the Adviser to the Governor and served as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada. He has served on numerous international committees, working with government officials, central bankers and academics. He’s the former chairman of the Economic and Development Review Committee at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. He has published numerous articles on monetary and financial stability and speaks regularly to a wide range of audiences.
DiMartino Booth is a former Advisor to the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. She is the author of Fed UP: An Insider’s Take on Why the Federal Reserve is Bad for America (a great read; I would highly recommend) and a current columnist with Bloomberg View. She is the CEO and Chief Strategist for Quill Intelligence LLC, a business speaker and frequent commentator on numerous national media outlets.
Listen to this interview. The insightful discussion between DiMartino Booth and White will open your eyes to major monetary issues facing our country and the world today.
